IT Platform Manager Full Time

Essential Functions / Responsibilities



  • Establishing and line managing a best-in-class team of Application/support Managers, Database Manager, DevOps professionals, and Cloud Service Analysts, both internally and with our 3rd party partners.

  • Ensuring scalability, performance and resilience of the Platform, including adequate backups, disaster recovery etc, and ensuring the processes to respond to and resolve incidents are defined and suitably resourced given the nature of a global platform and business operations

  • Leading and driving Platform projects in conjunction with the PMO guidelines to build new capabilities, or remediate existing ones, throughout the project lifecycle

  • Collaboration with the development teams, project management, IT service and support teams and other to support their activities, respond to their needs and respond to incidents

  • Making budgetary reports and recommendations as appropriate to existing and planned platform initiatives

  • Establishing the controls around capacity management, using the various inputs in terms of new projects/initiatives and business acquisition demands.

  • SLA/OLA management across the various application and environment owners

  • Pro-active supplier management, working to a balanced scorecard or similar framework

  • Coaching / mentoring of the team

Qualifications/RequirementsEssential Skills



  • 8+ years of platform management experience

  • Expertise in Azure/Cloud hosting, Database Management (Sybase, SQL, Oracle), Security, Failover, Replication, Load Balancing, API management etc

  • Expertise in DevOps principles and practice such as Continuous Integration, deployment automation, deployment via version control, continuous Deployment

  • Expertise in and opinions on cloud environments such as Azure or Amazon EC2 as well as more traditional VMWare approaches and how to scale and configure each for reliability and automation

  • It is very likely that the candidate will have experience of fast-moving and growing organisations in a relatable space, preferably also with experience of global operations sectors, understanding the priorities and nature of the services provided.

  • Good communicator at multiple levels and across multiple disciplines

  • Team Player, able to provide input into a multifunctional team

  • Capable of working to both tactical and strategic timescales
