Role

Forbes Solicitors are looking for an IT Applications Analyst and Trainer to join our IT team at our Head Office, based in Blackburn with travel required to our offices in Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

As a part of this role you will be working across the Firm to identify IT training needs and development as well as providing professional IT development and IT training on new IT/Systems packages to a range of internal teams. You will develop and deliver training interventions, that support the implementation of new software and systems, to ensure all staff are fully competent in their use of programmes, packages, and technologies.

The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:

  • Plan and deliver a range of engaging and interactive training sessions on IT applications to end-users to both new and existing employees including induction sessions, refresher and awareness training, new application training and development or support training;
  • Provide assistance and advice in response to day-to-day operational queries for technology business applications use and functionality (technical errors and problems to be solved by 1st line)
  • Upskilling colleagues to enable them to use the systems relevant to their role, ensuring best practice across the Firm.
  • Provide 1-1 or group workshops to staff in various positions, both technical and non-technical.
  • Update course documentation, materials and training resources.
  • Offer pre and post training support via email, telephone, video or in person.
  • Provide timely and detailed updates to the Firm regarding applications updates, fixes and tweaks.
  • Contribute to the development of existing systems, identifying system and process improvements and changes that will positively impact the utilisation and efficiency of the systems for end users whilst promoting consistency and continuous improvement across the Firm.
  • Manage and maintain a directory of system users, identifying and supporting superusers and champions, as well managing and approving licence and access requests.
  • Train and develop colleagues across the Firm on how to use technology and the business applications in place to support the effective and efficient delivery of their roles.
  • Evaluate training and take account of feedback to improve the quality of training provided
  • Customise training materials based on the needs of different departments, user groups and skill levels.
  • Produce and regularly review and update best practice guides for the business applications.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and in depth knowledge of system developments and updates to be able to provide thorough training on and explanations of the system change
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback on application usability and functionality.

  • Previous experience of developing and implementing IT systems training is essential;
  • Previous experience of working in an ‘operational environment’ across multiple locations and with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Good knowledge of IT Systems will be essential;
  • Able to adapt quickly to new applications and technologies;
  • Be confident in delivering training sessions;
  • Be an excellent communicator who can bridge the gap between the tech and business teams;
  • Resourceful, inquisitive and able to develop engaging training which meets the needs of a diverse workforce;
  • Adaptable to change;
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
