Job Details





Working as part of a team across England, mainland Europe and Israel you will work on activities such as:

  • To implement infrastructure upgrades, replacements, and improvements though the IT change control procedure

  • Manage and maintain the integrity of the infrastructure to maintain the qualified state and comply with current IT policies. e.g., e-mail, internet, computer usage and security.

  • To undertake various technical projects within the Information Systems department to support the information requirements and systems of the business including acquisitions and integrations.

  • To provide third line support to all the AMS Group employees and infrastructure across all company sites.









Key responsibilities





What will this role involve?

  • Manage updates and changes of infrastructure components through IT Change control.

  • Evaluate and then manage the deployment of new systems and system updates, working with various functions to ensure minimum disruption to the business, as part of the project lifestyle.

  • Provide technical support to the IT function.

  • Ensure the smooth running of the various systems within the department and respond to technical problems in a timely manner.

  • New hardware deployment/re-deployment.

  • To update any relevant documentation associated with system changes.

  • To assure an appropriate level of security for all servers and the information stored on them.

  • Perform the installation of upgrades and patches to supported applications and operating systems.

  • To liaise with support contract supplier regarding hardware problems you are assigned.

  • The role will be flexible allowing working time to be split between on site and at home.

  • Regular visits to all company sites to provide proactive support for the infrastructure where necessary and conduct appropriate repairs and upgrades.

  • expertise, particularly:

    • Networking – Administration of switches, DNS, DHCP and Firewalls (Aruba networks or Fortinet beneficial)

    • Windows Server and active directory, group policies and network administration.

    • Microsoft 365 (hybrid environment), including migrations

    • Microsoft Cloud based technologies, Azure, Sharepoint

    • VMWare - essential

    • Microsoft SQL Server exposure

    • IP Telephony experience



What we're looking for?

  • Educated to A level standard, HND or equivalent, preferably in a Computing discipline.

  • Technical qualifications e.g. Microsoft / Networking / Oracle / VCP are desirable.

  • Experience of working as part of an IT team, having accumulated a wide and varied range of IT knowledge and skills, experience in a manufacturing company is desirable.

  • Experience of HPe servers (Simplivity and storeOnce) beneficial.

  • Good experience of business functions and where IT fits in.



  • Excellent problem-solving skills (with the ability to document solutions effectively)

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • The role comes with an expectation of occasional travel to support the projects and support functions of the department.

  • Good communicator with effective interpersonal skills to work well with people at all levels of the company across multiple locations.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar or equivalent role (or a period in a 2nd line role looking to progress)

  • Passport and full clean driver’s license required.
