Team Assistant Full Time

at United Learning London in London (Published at 04-12-2023)

Central Office staff work closely with schools, offering a wealth of expertise to underpin schools’ own knowledge. Our specialist departments, including HR, finance, technology, strategy and performance, estates, and marketing, work alongside dedicated school improvement teams. By joining us, you will provide ongoing support to schools, ultimately improving the outcomes of our pupils.

The Role

United Learning is a growing group of schools, both academies and independent schools, which aims to provide excellent education across the country. We seek to improve the life chances of all the children and young people we serve and make it our mission to bring out 'the best in everyone' – students, staff, parents and the wider community.

This role sits within the United Curriculum team. Our common curriculum is at the heart of the organisation, setting out the powerful knowledge we believe all children are entitled to learn and supporting teachers across the country with planning and delivering excellent lessons. The curriculum team has recently begun a new chapter, we are making our curriculum available to schools outside the Trust, and we are looking to expand our team with a new Team Assistant role.

You will join a small project and operations team supporting the delivery of United Curriculum’s objectives. You will report to the Senior Project Lead for Curriculum and Assessment and work closely with the Director of Curriculum and our Project Lead. The key areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

  • Provide administrative support to the United Curriculum project team. This could include raising purchases orders and tracking invoices, minute taking, overseeing recruitment processes. Organising subject network events and webinars.

  • Provide support to schools purchasing United Curriculum by managing our email help desk, supporting schools through the onboarding process and managing customer records in our CRM.

  • Provide support with the quality assurance process for our curriculum resources to ensure we are confident all third-party content is correctly licenced, and resources have been checked for accuracy and formatting, prior to being uploaded onto our curriculum site.

  • Provide support across our portfolio of projects as it grows and adapts, this could include supporting curriculum writers with cross subject initiatives such as vocabulary or oracy, gathering stakeholder feedback, or testing systems and our curriculum site.

You will need to be a self-starter, enthusiastic, focused, determined and willing to learn and work as part of a diverse team – many of whom are field, or school based. You will be willing to develop a good knowledge of the education system and our curriculum. You will be communicating directly with school colleagues from our trust and beyond, so you will need great organisation skills, and must be an effective communicator. Your use of technology will need to be very up to date, particularly around use of Office 365. Experience using a CRM is desirable but not essential.

We will make sure that you have the support you need to succeed from the range of specialists working in the organisation and other members of the team. Across United Learning we currently support hybrid working, so you will be able to spend some time working from home if you choose, as well as being in the London office on a regular basis (minimum 2 day a week). We would consider flexible, term time or part time working patterns for the right candidate.
