About the Trust


GMMH head office is based at Prestwich, Manchester and it is easily accessible via both car and public transport. There is onsite parking and additional visitor car parking (fees will apply). It has an onsite restaurant where staff are eligible for a discount. There is also a café where drinks and light snacks are available.


What you’ll be responsible for:


· Identify and analyse a range of IT problems and take the most appropriate method of resolution liaising with the ICT Desktop Support Team Lead and ICT Desktop Support Manager as necessary.


· Follow department procedures for routine IT problems, use own initiative for complex IT problems and know when to refer for highly complex/sensitive IT problems.


· Provide telephone, and on-site support service to staff within the Trust.


· Provide a point of technical escalation and technical support to the ICT Service Desk.


· Proactively assist departments in the development of their IT use in line with clinical requirements. Good customer facing skills are essential.


· Provide high quality technical support as required, to all users connected to the customer’s IT environment using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques to identify root causes.


· To fix diagnose faults where feasible or to recommend appropriate solutions acknowledging and describing the implications for the end customer and for the internal IT teams.


You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:


1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS


2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times


3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation


You’ll have the following skills/experience:


· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written


· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel


· Previous experience in NHS IT


· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure


· Basic understanding of legislation impacting upon IT in the NHS.


· Able to clearly manage priorities for self and team to meet deadlines and manage conflicting customer demands


· Knowledge and experience of Windows operating systems


· Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office 365


This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
