Office Administrator for Malmesbury Abbey


Malmesbury Abbey and Upper Avon is seeking to recruit an office administrator who will also support the work of the Vicar and Staff at the Abbey and be part of the Office Team. We are an active, lively town church sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with those around us. You will be part of an experienced and friendly staff team regularly working with volunteers and the town. We are looking to appoint someone for this well-established, part-time position (20 hours per week with pattern to be agreed with successful candidate) with the following qualities:


- Excellent interpersonal, office, computer, social media and organisational skills


- An eye for detail and the ability to manage the Vicar’s demanding diary and emails


- Self-motivated, flexible, calm, approachable and discreet


This role has an occupational requirement to be a sympathetic/practising Christian, under the 2010 Equality Act, and will require the successful candidate to undergo a basic check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Safeguarding Training as there will be involvement with children and the vulnerable.

Day to Day Line Management – Vicar and Ops and Comms Manager

Location: The Old Squash Courts, SN16 9BA


Salary: £11ph – £21255 pro rata - part time and also Pension


Holidays: up to 28 working days including days immediately after Christmas


and Easter and Bank Holidays


Probationary period: 6 months with 3 month review
