Assistant Administrator Full Time

Job description












This is a part time (15 hours pw), term time position to cover a maternity leave. The role includes a wide variety of general admin duties and will include assisting in the administration of suspensions and maintenance of the school calendar.


The successful candidate will join an experienced admin team and have access to a range of professional development opportunities and a comprehensive wellbeing package.


Education and experience required



  • Experience of general clerical/administrative work



  • A sound educational background with good literacy and numeracy skills



  • Experience of working in a school would be an advantage.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Is competent in the use of use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google drive and administration-related software packages



  • Has excellent organisational skills and the ability to follow administrative procedures and systems efficiently



  • Is diplomatic and has the ability to work effectively in a multi-level organisation and with a wide range of people



  • Is able to work efficiently under pressure and able to set priorities, meet deadlines and use initiative



  • Is flexible and has the ability to work well in a team



  • Has the ability to work independently



  • Is proactive and has the ability to display initiative



  • Possesses excellent communication skills both written and oral



  • Is honest, trustworthy and capable of handling confidential information



  • Has a very good attendance, punctuality and health record



  • Is First Aid trained or is willing to attend first aid training



  • Is able to work on the occasional evening as required



  • is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
