Zalaris are looking for an IT Administrator who will manage the office located in the United Kingdom to join our team.

  • This UK role benefits from a hybrid working model with a working week that includes a mix of an office based location (Hersham) and flexibility to work from home.
  • The role also benefits from reduced hours (5 instead of 8) with core hours between 10-4 and flexibility to work around your availability and options to increase the hours to fulltime if desired and required.
  • This role will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the office and IT operations, including a wide range of administrative tasks, supporting management, and maintaining a smooth workflow of tasks.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level IT support in-person or via calls or remote connection. Escalate problems where necessary to IT manager.
  • Create clear documentation and use internal knowledge sharing to help users avoid problems.
  • Procure IT equipment and accurately maintain IT asset lists.
  • Set up new laptops, create laptop images, etc., and arrange delivery and collection.
  • Provide technical IT information in support of bids to prospective customers.
  • Liaise with central Group IT as necessary, ensuring that UK IT complies with Group requirements.
  • Maintain IT services in Hersham office.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, including managing office supplies, equipment, and maintenance.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised office environment.

Skills

Must-Have:

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues in a methodical manner.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems independently and escalate if required for further support.
  • Ability to quickly understand new technical information as required.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a well-organised workspace.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks and documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Nice to Have*:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows administration.
  • General understanding of networks (IP networking including protocols such as DHCP, DNS, NAT, TCP vs. UDP).
  • Basic understanding of business VPNs (such as Cisco, Pulse, CheckPoint).
  • Ability to set up, configure, and troubleshoot small-office-level IT equipment (such as switches, cabling, WiFi access points, printers).

Education & experience

  • Competency in IT is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
