Our IT Team is expanding, we are looking for an IT Operations Manager who will report directly into the Head of IT!



The individual must have Management experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven IT Support Manager to take the next steps in their career.




The IT Operations Manager will be fully responsible for Arriva Rail London's hardware, software, computer networks and data centres, ensuring they are efficient, reliable and consistently in line with the company compliance standards.



As the IT Operations Manager, you will also lead the strategic planning, procurement, implementation, security and management of information technology solutions in use at Arriva Rail London.



This is also a leadership role, you will be managing the operational side of the IT function which includes 9 direct reports.



Reporting directly into the Head of IT, you will lead the IT Operations Team, working closely with the IT Portfolio Manager to ensure that all compliance and strategic targets are met for the IT department and occasionally deputise the Head of IT.



You will also lead on the IT departments strategy to organise the IT Operations Team daily, with the goal of achieving long term strategic goals.



As the IT Operations Manager you will also be responsible for ensuring that the IT Operations Team is correctly equipped with the correct tools and skills to be reactive 24/7 for any IT outages or system failures.


Minimum of 3 years experience in managing a team with direct reports working within the IT field.



Strong background working in Senior IT Support Engineering roles or similar, as well as relevant qualifications including ITIL foundation or equivalent.



Knowledge of current IT industry risks and opportunities, inducing cloud technologies as well as strong understanding of database, Hypervisor and Firewall technologies, and experience working with Microsoft products and security systems.



The ideal candidate will come from a railway background and have an understanding of railway specific systems, but this isn't essential.



Proven Management experience, as well as experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment.
