IT Operations Analyst Full Time

As an IT Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for coordinating the commercial, procurement and logistics activities for the Engineering IT Operations team’s goods and services.



Your expertise in vendor relationship management, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams will contribute to streamlining operations and driving value as well as continuous improvement within our IT Operations department.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Vendor Management




  • Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors, including hardware and software resellers, and service providers.



  • Monitor vendor performance, and proactively address concerns relating to delivery.



  • Collaborate with non-technical teams to ensure the seamless operation of vendor payments, purchase requests and purchase invoices.




Procurement & Contract Management




  • Plan and execute IT hardware procurement including Opex (SaaS tooling, software renewals, collocation commercials) and Capex (IT hardware) categories.



  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define procurement requirements



  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tracking, reporting and internal cost allocation.



  • In conjunction with the Engineering Finance Manager, monitor and analyse IT collocation, hardware, subscription and services costs, trends, annual and monthly budget forecasts and variances against budgeted amounts.






Project Coordination




  • Participate in projects related to Data Centre expansions, reductions and internal relocations including supplier and internal logistics.



  • Proactively support resolving hardware-related break-fixes with vendors, ensuring minimal downtime and impact to operations.



  • Proactively support current and future infrastructure requirements based on business needs and growth projections.






Commercial Coordination




  • Maintain preferred supplier agreements, and new proposals, negotiate contracts and make recommendations for new vendor selection based on quality, cost, reliability and lead times.



  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle for IT procurement, including contract negotiation, execution, amendments and renewal phases.



  • Support the Data Centre Infrastructure Manager with any commercial requirements pertaining to collocation sites and their services including network internet, onsite support, hardware break fixes, ticketing operations and collocation agreements.




EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR




  • Excellent commercial skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement engagements simultaneously.



  • Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure components including design, servers, storage and networking.



  • Familiarity with IT hardware, software and services procurement processes.



  • Familiarity with collocation and data centre operations.



  • Experience working with various departments; Legal, Technical, Finance.



  • Proven experience in IT procurement, vendor management and contract negotiations.



  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection) is desirable.



  • Knowledge of reporting metrics (e.g. Kanban, Gannt charts) is desirable.



  • Proficiency in procurement and finance tools (e.g. Concur, SAP, Ironclad).



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
