Student Finance Administrator Full Time

Overall Purpose of the Job:


  • To take responsibility for the administration of student finance.




  • To support a culture of excellent service provision and continuous improvement, placing the student experience at the heart of what we do with support for a single Professional Services (PS) team working flexibly across organisational boundaries.



Specific Responsibilities:



  • To ensure that non-financial information required by different sponsors is collected and provided alongside the invoice.




  • To administer sponsor-specific discounts, liaising with colleagues in the International Relations Team.




  • To ensure individual billing is correct for each degree apprentice in line with scheme requirements




  • To support the Student Finance Officer (systems role) with set-up on the student record system including tuition fee and award set-up and configuration




  • To undertake the regular routine exchanges of data processes with the Student Loan Company (SLC)




  • To action SLC worklists including the submission of changes of circumstances via the H E portal service (SIS) provided by the Student Loans Company




  • To undertake the annual completion and online submission of Higher Education Institution (HEI) course databases to the SLC for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.


Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience :





  • Relevant knowledge and experience, including financial processes, policies and procedures.




  • Flexible and responsive to customer needs with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide information, advice and guidance whilst maintaining confidentiality.




  • Able to supervise staff and coordinate work activities.




  • Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise a variety of work activities in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines.




  • Experience of working in a team environment within a large organisation, with the ability to be flexible and provide support for colleagues.




  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.




  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.




  • Good digital literacy skills with experience of, or willingness to be trained in appropriate systems.
