Job Description
The key purpose of this role is to provide support and expertise on the design, development and enhancement and performing day to day production support activities of our Core Banking System, Flexcube, to assist the business increasing operational efficiency and reduce operational risks.
To support the fixing of application and systems problems, or any incident that is disrupting the application service that business users depend on.
To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with the business and team to fix the BAU issues on agreed SLA
- Use technology appropriately and flexibly, taking into consideration the company’s strategy and security requirements.
- Adhere to the company’s standards and best practices, including, but not limited to, documentation, testing and peer review
- Ensure maintenance of the development infrastructure required by the above tools. Maintenance the source code repository, continuous build and deployment facilities
- Provide technical advice to the business users by identifying the most appropriate tools/processes for any given task.
- Ensures quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of the code base

- Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification
Knowledge / Experience/Skills:
- Experience using our Core Banking System, Flexcube, essential
- Extensive experience in a busy IT department, working in a similar role.
- Financial Services background desirable
- Broad knowledge of technologies across the IT landscape
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, adapting to changing business demands, whilst also being able to set expectations with internal customers
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly computer literate; with strong Business Analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with colleagues, providers and senior management.
Key Skills
- Resolving base product issues by coordinating with Oracle Global Support team
- Providing work around/data patching for base product/customisation issues
- EOD support
- Provide user support for any Flexcube queries- functional / technical
- Patch deployment and support
- Develop stubs or stub utilities wherever needed
- Development of custom functionality as per business requirement
- Development of batch or online FLEXCUBE interfaces on need basis.
- Both back and front-end customisation. Using java script, RAD tool and PL/SQL
- New reports development or existing report modification using BIP and RAD tool
- Develop incoming and outgoing extracts using FLEXCUBE GI module as per the Requirement specifications for various Flexcube functional module
- Develop tools and utilities for flexcube as per requirement specifications.
- Fix defects found during unit testing, system integration testing and acceptance testing
- Should have PL/SQL, JAVA,J2EE and SOA and Oracle tech skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with colleagues, providers and senior management.
