The Role


The IT Support Engineer will work remotely, providing technical support and services for the organisation's systems, tools, and processes. This role includes tasks related to Salesforce administration, user onboarding and offboarding, handling forgotten passwords, data migration, data visualisation, process automation, and occasional junior-level programming tasks.


Responsibilities



  • Salesforce Administration:

    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and profiles.

    • Create and maintain custom objects, fields, and page layouts.

    • Develop custom reports and dashboards.

    • Maintain data integrity and ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices.


  • User Onboarding and Offboarding:

    • Set up user accounts, permissions, and access for new employees.

    • Ensure users have access to necessary systems and tools (e.g. Google Suite, Salesforce).

    • Remove access to systems and tools for departing employees and transfer information as necessary.


  • Forgotten Password Management:

    • Reset user passwords for various systems and tools (e.g. Google Suite, Salesforce, Azure).

    • Assist users in setting up strong passwords that adhere to company policies.

      • Help users implement password management tools like 1Password, LastPass, or Google Password Manager, as needed.



  • Data Migration:

    • Ensure accurate migration of data between systems, including tasks such as data cleaning, transformation, and verification.

    • Coordinate with stakeholders and identify migration risks and potential data quality issues.


  • Data Visualization:

    • Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify meaningful data insights and communicate them effectively.


  • Process Automation:

    • Identify manual processes that can be automated using tools like Zapier, Integromat, or Microsoft Power Automate.

    • Design, develop, and test process automation workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.


  • Junior-level Programming Tasks:

    • Assist in coding and debugging basic scripts and programs, especially related to automation and integration between different systems.

    • Maintain and update existing codebases, when necessary.



Requirements




  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with APIs and web services (e.g. REST, SOAP).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work remotely, be self-directed, and manage time effectively.
