About the role:

As a Health and Wellbeing Specialist, you will support individuals not currently accessing NHS or formal mental health services, but who would benefit from tailored wellbeing support. Working alongside IPS Employment Specialists, you will help participants overcome barriers to employment, promoting recovery, resilience, and social inclusion.

This community-based role focuses on person-centred wellbeing planning, practical interventions, and advocacy. You will support individuals to build coping strategies, improve lifestyle habits, and sustain employment. You will also support those in work to manage stress and transitions, reducing the risk of job loss.

Required criteria:

· Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build rapport.

· Proven experience supporting individuals with health and wellbeing challenges.

· Ability to develop and deliver SMART wellbeing plans

· Experience delivering one-to-one and group sessions

· Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences

· Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.

· Experience working in performance-driven environments.

· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.

Desirable criteria:

· Experience in employability, public services, or similar sectors

· Knowledge of inclusive practices and diverse communities

· Existing network of local partners or employers.

· Proactive, solutions-focused approach

· Understanding of benefits and workplace adjustments

More details about the role:

Participant Support & Wellbeing Planning:

· Identify individuals who may benefit from IPS but require initial wellbeing input to engage effectively.

· Build trusting, supportive, progression focussed relationship with participants.

· Co-produce personalised wellbeing plans Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions

· Deliver interventions (e.g. mental health, lifestyle, confidence)

· Facilitate group activities and wellbeing sessions

· Provide advice on workplace wellbeing and adjustments

Advocacy & Community Engagement:

· Advocate for participants with services and organisations

· Support access to healthcare and community resources

· Assist with practical tasks (e.g. registrations, forms)

Collaboration with IPS Employment Specialist

· Work with IPS Employment Specialists to align wellbeing and employment goals

· Contribute to case discussions, referrals, and progress reviews

Service Delivery & Impact

· Deliver flexible, tailored support to improve job outcomes

· Offer flexible support (in-person, virtual, or outreach) based on participant needs.

· Manage caseloads and maintain accurate records

· Monitor progress and outcomes

· Promote inclusion and challenge stigma

· Work in line with IPS and organisational standards
