Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Agency Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our horticultural team. This role involves supporting the maintenance and development of nursery plants, assisting with landscape projects, and ensuring the health and growth of a diverse range of flora. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance to gain practical experience within a professional environment. The successful candidate will be paid for their work and will contribute to the ongoing success of our nursery operations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planting, pruning, and transplanting of nursery stock using hand tools and power tools as required.
• Supporting irrigation systems installation and maintenance to ensure optimal watering of plants.
• Operating gardening equipment including power tools safely and effectively.
• Contributing to landscape maintenance activities such as mowing, edging, and weed control.
• Applying growing techniques to promote healthy plant development, including fertilising and pest control.
• Maintaining organised work areas, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
• Supporting the team in plant propagation activities such as seeding and grafting.
• Assisting with general nursery duties including soil preparation, composting, and plant care.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed during all tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in gardening, horticulture or landscape maintenance is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with hand tools, irrigation systems, power tools, and growing techniques.
• Knowledge of plant care practices including pruning, fertilising, pest management, and propagation.
• Ability to operate gardening equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• A keen interest in horticulture or landscape design is advantageous.
• Previous experience working with nursery plants or in a similar environment is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift moderate loads as required.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,300.85 per year
