SENIOR Residential Support Worker - Children's Home (FULL TIME)

Gratia Cura Residential are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team in providing exceptional care to children within a residential setting in our beautiful newly opened home in Grove. The children we support have often experienced challenging childhoods, which may include emotional and behavioural difficulties, and some may also have potential learning disabilities.
We are looking for staff who can offer a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, helping these children build emotional resilience, develop positive coping strategies, and achieve their full potential. Your role will be vital in supporting these children’s growth, offering guidance, understanding, and ensuring their wellbeing while fostering an environment of respect and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentoring and Supervision: Support and mentor a team of residential support workers, providing guidance and direction to ensure the needs of the children are consistently met.
- Safeguarding: Maintain a good understanding of safeguarding procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in care.
- Care Planning & Reviews: Lead the review and update of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management plans to meet individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
- Shift Leading: Take responsibility for leading shifts, including allocating tasks and managing workloads to ensure smooth operations and the needs of the children are met.
- Leading by Example: Set high standards of behaviour and professionalism to inspire and encourage the team in their day-to-day duties.
- Supportive Environment: Ensure that the children's emotional, physical, and social needs are met, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities and environments comply with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations, maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and children.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Stay informed and up-to-date on all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing children's care, and ensure the home meets these requirements.
- Direct Reporting: Report directly to the Registered Manager, providing regular updates on the care and progress of the children, and supporting with management duties when required.
Skills & Experience:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willing to undertake this qualification) is essential.
- Significant experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding protocols and experience in implementing them.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in reviewing and updating care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
- A good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations, and experience in applying them to ensure a safe working and living environment.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and lead a team effectively.
- Ability to collaborate and report effectively to the Registered Manager, ensuring alignment with the home's objectives and regulatory standards.
