We're now looking for a talented and ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing Design & R&D team at our Head Office in Membury.

The Role

Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in designing innovative special-purpose machinery and engineered solutions using Autodesk Inventor 3D. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of bespoke projects, seeing your designs progress from concept through to manufacture and installation.

You'll collaborate closely with engineering, production and sales teams, helping to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our customers' exact requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design specialist machinery, assemblies and individual mechanical components using Autodesk Inventor 3D.
  • Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, technical documentation and bills of materials.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team, including concept and proposal drawings.
  • Support the workshop and service engineers throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
  • Liaise with new and existing suppliers regarding products and technical specifications.
  • Occasionally travel throughout the UK to assist with customer visits, project meetings and equipment installations.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving engineering challenges and is keen to develop their career within a supportive and innovative environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred, although experience with similar packages will be considered).
  • Experience producing detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • An interest in automation and special-purpose machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and a genuine desire to learn and develop.

Hours of work

8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday 1/2 hour lunch

8:00am – 1:00pm Friday
