Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Mobile Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on/off site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a range of Material Handling equipment across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional service to clients while developing your technical expertise. The position involves a company vehicle (van) and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on material handling equipment at client sites to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently, diagnosing faults accurately and implementing effective solutions.
  • Install, commission, and decommission material handling equiptment as required, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, and parts used, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference.
  • Liaise with the central office to coordinate schedules, report progress, and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the optimisation of service processes to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Experience

  • Proven experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably within a mobile or field service environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems swiftly.
  • Familiarity with a variety of mobile equipment or systems such as hydraulic machinery, generators, or specialised industrial tools is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple service calls visits effectively.
  • Valid driving licence is essential; willingness to travel is required, mainly local.
  • Prior experience working independently in remote locations is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in engineering or technical fields will be considered an asset.

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,400.00 per year
