Cardiff and Vale College is one of the largest colleges in the UK and an exciting place to work. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lecturer – Engineering to join our dedicated Engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to inspire and support learners across a range of engineering programmes. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, helping students achieve their full potential and progress towards their career aspirations.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across a range of engineering programmes.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
  • Support learners to achieve their academic goals whilst promoting their wellbeing and development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, course evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in student recruitment, marketing and promotional activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to enhance the learner experience.
  • Deliver teaching across College sites and community venues, including occasional evening and weekend provision where required.

About You

You will have:
  • A qualification in Engineering at Degree or HNC level.
  • A PGCE, teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Relevant industry experience within an engineering environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Teaching experience or the ability to transfer industry expertise into an educational setting.
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements within engineering.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.
  • A commitment to supporting learners and delivering an outstanding learning experience.
