Network Engineer (Security & Multi-Site)
Radstock or Livingston (Hybrid – typically 1 day onsite, usually Wednesday)
Up to £55,000 + Benefits

A growing, technology-driven organisation is looking to hire an experienced Network Engineer to support and evolve its multi-site network infrastructure, with a strong focus on network security, resilience, and modernisation.

The Role

You'll play a key role in managing and enhancing a complex, multi-site network environment, ensuring consistency, performance, and security across locations.

There is a strong focus on network security appliances, switching, and infrastructure standardisation, with ongoing work to ensure sites mirror each other and operate as a resilient, scalable platform.

You'll also be involved in driving new technologies forward, with exposure to automation and modern network tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Fortigate firewalls in clustered environments
• Administer and optimise network security appliances (Fortigate, WatchGuard, Check Point)
• Support multi-site network architecture, ensuring consistency across locations
• Work across Layer 1–3 networking, including fibre infrastructure
• Manage VLANs and network segmentation across the environment
• Support switching infrastructure and configuration deployment (including IMC)
• Work with wireless technologies (Aruba) and associated management platforms
• Contribute to network monitoring, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support the evolution of security tooling, including Sentinel integration
• Drive forward automation and standardisation across the network estate

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet / Fortigate firewalls (essential)
• Proven experience working with network security appliances
• Solid understanding of switching and routing (L1, L2, L3)
• Experience managing VLANs, segmentation, and multi-site networks
• Exposure to WatchGuard and/or Check Point environments
• Experience with Aruba networking and wireless solutions
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to network automation or configuration deployment tools
• Understanding of Microsoft Sentinel or similar security platforms
• Experience working in high-availability or mirrored site environments
