PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR (PAYE) Full Time

We have been established for over fifty years and are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator (PAYE) to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate employee records. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in payroll systems and human resources management within a dynamic environment.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator (PAYE) to join our busy South London office.

This is a PAYE-focused role within an accountancy practice. You will be responsible for managing multiple client payrolls and ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements.

We are looking for someone competent, efficient, and confident handling payroll independently. This role does not require a qualified accountant, but hands-on payroll experience is essential.

Key Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Payroll Administrator / Payroll Assistant experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Strong PAYE knowledge including RTI submissions, tax codes, NI, pensions
  • Experience processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
  • Knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
  • Experience with payroll software (BrightPay, Sage Payroll or similar)
  • Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines

A hard-working, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Experience working in an accountancy practice
  • Degree educated (or equivalent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients
  • Managing HMRC RTI submissions (FPS, EPS)
  • Processing starters, leavers, and payroll changes
  • Handling payroll queries from clients and employees
  • Calculating deductions, benefits, and statutory payments
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and payroll legislation
  • Year-end processes including P60s and payroll reconciliation
