Building Maintenance Engineer
at Symtrex Services Reading in Reading (Published at 29-01-2026)
We are seeking a candidate to join our mobile engineering team of professionals. Working M4/M3 Corridor and predominantly London City on contracted sites ranging from commercial office spaces, large high end residential properties.
You will be required to have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems and have a broad capability maintaining assets and diagnosing issues with building services.
Work is divided into Planned, Reactive and Quoted works. Your day-to-day role will include but not be limited to :
- Building Services Planned Maintenance (HVAC servicing, emergency light testing, tap temperature testing etc)
- Mechanical & Electrical fault diagnosis & repairs
- Minor works installations
- Handyman type works
- Call outs to reactive jobs
- Basic Plumbing
Applicants will also be required to operate our call out rota
Overtime associated to callouts is paid at a x l.5 rate.
Package :
- Current salaries ranging from £40-£50K per annum dependent upon skills and experience

Requirements
You will be required to have obtained a minimum of one of the following Industry qualifications :
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification Level 3 / HNC / HND
- 18th Edition if electrically qualified
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Qualification with F-Gas
- You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
- A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
- Excellent customer skills
- Full UK driving license
