Electrical Testing Engineer Full Time

at LJR Group Services Limited Norwich in Norwich (Published at 29-01-2026)

We are seeking an experienced self-employed Electrical Testing Engineer to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports across London and the surrounding areas. Works are primarily within residential and managed properties, including social housing and public-sector portfolios. The role involves completing EICRs in accordance with BS 7671, producing accurate and compliant certification, identifying remedial requirements, and working professionally within occupied environments.

Applicants must hold a recognised Level 3 Craft Qualification such as 2365, 2346/03 or equivalent, together with 2391-52 or equivalent inspection and testing, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and AM2. Engineers must be confident in correct coding, reporting standards, and tenant-facing work. Previous experience carrying out EICRs in domestic or social housing settings is essential.

This role is suited to self-employed engineers operating their own van and equipment. To be considered, applicants must provide their full name, copies of all relevant qualifications, confirmation of right to work in the UK supported by a passport or equivalent document, a current DBS check, a recent face photograph on a plain white background, an email address and contact telephone number, and confirmation of the London boroughs and surrounding areas they are able to cover. A full UK driving licence is required and will be subject to a DVLA check. Vehicle details must be provided, including van make, model, and registration number.

Engineers must also hold current health and safety certifications including COSHH, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, and Working at Height. All test equipment must be in date, and a valid calibration certificate will be required prior to commencement.

We offer consistent, planned workloads across Norwich, realistic appointment volumes, and professional support from an experienced office team. Remedial works are managed separately, allowing engineers to focus on inspection and testing without productivity pressure. This opportunity is aimed at reliable, compliant engineers seeking steady work with a well-organised contractor rather than short-term or volume-driven arrangements.
