Location: Bridgend, South Wales
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 4.00pm

The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic service driven Proactive IT Engineer, with previous experience of working within the ICT sector, preferably in an IT 2nd/3rd Line Helpdesk or engineering role. You will be responsible for responding to technical and security related alerts that come into the Proactive maintenance queue from our clients endpoints, servers, cloud services and infrastructure.
In order to be suitable for this position you must have proven experience of working within a Microsoft Windows environment setting up, managing or supporting Office 365, Teams, Active Directory, Azure AD, SharePoint and desktop / laptop devices
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Proactive IT Team Leader
- Ensure Proactive alerts and incidents are responded to and resolved within SLAs
- Implement automated remediation and prevention measures using RMM tools
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring alerts
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and strive for maximum uptime of clients IT equipment and services.
- Investigation and monitoring of IT related, network, firewall, workstation, laptop, backups and application performance issues
- Communicate clearly and effectively with end-users, colleagues and management to quickly resolve alerts.
- Ensuring all open alerts are updated with relevant information and customers are regularly updated where required
- Provide additions and updates to existing process documentation, ensuring we keep solutions up to date.
- Work with Proactive IT Team leader to provide continuous improvement ideas and plans to reduce alerts into the Proactive IT Team.
- Management of software and firmware updates for various devices.
- Assist in the implementation of securing clients IT environments
- Assist the Proactive IT Team Leader in the testing of new applications and services that we are looking to adopt into the business.
- Assist in integration tasks and training of Flotek products to acquired businesses.

- Strong experience in an IT Service Desk or IT Delivery Role.
- Strong knowledge of using and supporting Microsoft Windows client operating systems in conjunction with M365 cloud products.
- Experience in creating and maintaining Microsoft Entra/Active Directory user accounts and security groups.
- Experience with Sharepoint management.
- Experienced at building and maintaining end-user computer systems.
- Be user-focused and understand and identify user needs.
- Knowledge of security technologies.
- A good understanding of network technologies (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
- Experience of maintaining security Firewalls
- Comfortable using CRMs, RMMs and documentation solutions.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Excellent external client liaison skills.
