Role: Fabrication Engineer, Fixed Term initially for 3 months, with possible extension.

Active Design is leading manufacturer of wheelchair special seating products and clinical seating services. The company has been involved in the design, development and manufacturer of postural management equipment for over 30 years. Our products are manufactured at our factory in Aston, Birmingham using a wide range of production techniques.

What we are looking for:

This role will require someone with good Engineering skills and knowledge of core engineering principles to be able to work with the team of fabrication engineers for a healthcare organisation, training will be provided on the job but also shadowing our fabrication engineers to get the understanding of whats needed and expected of you.

Working within the fabrications team you will be working with machinery to cut / drill and finish metal work prior to welding and powder coating or chroming.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the team and Fabrication team lead to prepare metal work ahead of welding / finishing

Take ownership for own working area and work designated to you in a timely manner.

Feedback on process improvements that you see or feel could be improved upon.

Working with heavy machinery like power presses, drills, bandsaws and chop saws

Quality checking of your own work and paying attention to detail and finish

We are looking for someone to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday between 8am to 5pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15- minute breaks (paid) and Fridays 7am 1pm.
