We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled L3 Support Engineer with a strong background in Windows Server (Wintel) environments, Microsoft Azure, and PowerShell scripting. This is a senior technical role requiring at least 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT support and infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will serve as an escalation point for complex incidents and problems, lead critical issue resolution, and contribute to automation and infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide L3-level support for Windows server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
Manage and maintain Wintel servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and system patching.
Handle incident, problem, and change management aligned with ITIL standards.
Lead root cause analysis for complex issues and implement preventive measures.
Deploy and support Azure infrastructure services including Virtual Machines, Azure AD, networking, and backups.
Develop, maintain, and automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
Participate in server migrations, upgrades, and cloud transformation projects.
Work collaboratively with application, security, and network teams.
Document solutions, create knowledge base articles, and mentor junior staff.
Stay current with emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in Windows server infrastructure and enterprise support.
Strong expertise in Wintel technologies, Windows Server (2012–2022), AD, GPOs, and core services.
Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings.
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, ticketing systems, and SLAs.
Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Good understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £200.00-£300.00 per day
