IT Support Engineer – Full Time | Essex-Based | On-site, Remote & Field Support

About the Role:
You’ll work as part of a small but highly experienced support team, delivering technical support to our long-term client base. This includes a mix of on-site, remote, and telephone support, mainly across the Essex area.
The role involves both day-to-day IT support and hands-on project work, including system installations, server deployments, and infrastructure upgrades. You’ll need to be well-organised, self-motivated, and confident in managing your own workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering IT support (on-site, remote, and phone)
- Installing and configuring desktop and server hardware/software
- Troubleshooting routers, firewalls, and wireless networks
- Participating in server monitoring and proactive maintenance
- Managing client projects and upgrades
- Taking ownership of complex technical issues through to resolution.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Punctual, reliable, and self-driven
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle – essential for client site visits
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Broad understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
Core Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Windows 10/11
- Microsoft Office 2016 / Microsoft 365
- Networking: VPN, VLAN, NAT, DMZ, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016 – 2022
- Office 365 administration
- Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive Administration.
- Router and firewall configuration
Desirable Skills (a bonus, but not essential):
- Advanced Windows Server skills (AD, GPO)
- VMWare ESXi / Hyper-V virtualisation
- Microsoft Azure & cloud technologies
- Cisco, Ubiquiti networking
- SharePoint configuration
- Veeam backup solutions
Working Hours & Benefits:
- Full-time, permanent role
- Core hours: 09:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday
