We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated EC&I Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will be a competent and proven EC&I Design Engineer, capable of producing, checking and facilitating designs, drawings, supporting calculations and technical documents (inc. plans) with minimum supervision. They will have the ability to translate a client's requirements into a meaningful engineering and technical solution. Good communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain the engineering quality of the project delivery, ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards and local domain policy and procedures.
  • Assist in production of conceptual designs, optioneering studies, requirements capture, user requirements specification and use cases.
  • Experience in designing for functional safety systems is desirable.
  • Have experience of lifecycle and maturity management.
  • Quickly self-deliver pragmatic systems solutions from a brief problem statement.
  • Maintain compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation.
  • Participate in Design and System Level Reviews. Ensure that subsequent design meets the project and client requirements.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients is upheld.
  • Ensure effective project delivery to time and cost.
  • Support and mentor apprentices / graduates (where appropriate).

Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

Good working knowledge of EC&I design software; E.g. Autocad Electrical, E-Plan P8 or similar

Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience

Must be able to obtain or hold suitable security clearance and be a British National

Conversant with the Office 365 suite of software

Plant process knowledge and experience

Knowledge of one or more of a variety of PES technologies – PLC, SCADA,DCS, SQL Server, Modicon M, MIS/HLS
