As the Commercial Manager - Commercial Evolution you will be one of three Commercial Managers in our team. You will work alongside a Senior Commercial Manager, focusing on one area of our remit, pricing and contracting. This will require you to assess the commercial viability of our current pricing and contracting approaches, understand how these best fit into our packaging approach, define and analyse new approaches and work with cross functional stakeholders to execute recommended changes. You will be required to continually assess the performance of existing products / price points and customer behaviours during their lifetime to carry this out. You will also be responsible for identifying ways we can decrease costs through our unit economics and packaging strategy.

Our team?s mission is to continuously improve our Commercial Portfolio (how and what we sell) so we can meet the needs of our customers now and in the future. We set the strategy for how we wish to trade with our customers, focused on making it easy for customers to understand and buy what we sell. This includes everything related to pricing and packaging. We?re embarking on an extremely ambitious year, and we?re looking for a confident and ambitious commercial professional to join our team

Principal responsibilities

  • Evaluate our current commercial pricing, contract length and packaging approaches.

  • Understand the sustainability of these current constructs, define alternative constructs and investigate the commercial/financial impact of those.

  • Assess the commercial viability of our current ongoing pricing model through analysis of customer reactions and ensure that we are continuing to optimise the end-of-offer outcomes.

  • Analyse our contract options (including contract lengths and re-contracting options) and ensure we position these in a way that will ensure optimal commercial outcomes.

  • Pro-actively identify new and innovative pricing and contract length opportunities which can be used to address any gaps.

  • Continuously challenge the underlying costs of existing products, working with internal stakeholders to reduce the costs in our bundles wherever possible.

  • Build relationships with Digital so that we can test hypotheses and options to gain further robustness over data and recommendations before launch.

  • Read up on and assess market and industry intelligence to help shape analysis, options and ultimately recommendations for change. Work closely with all Commercial teams, to help ensure the best possible commercial outcome.

  • Support our thinking on packaging and propositions. Ensure we have a cohesive strategy across our products, can clearly show how elements work together, and how they can be commercialised.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Will have ideally worked within Telco or for a subscription based company

  • A strong understanding of financial performance and ability to undertake financial analysis.

  • Experience of working within a commercial environment.

  • Experience of working across cross-functional teams
