KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

David Watson Transport are a well-established, market leading, FORS Gold accredited specialist haulage business with over 100 vehicles in our fleet, 160 employees and 7 depots across the country. We are one of the largest Specialist Transport companies in the UK and pride ourselves on continuing to set the standards for others to follow. We are currently looking to appoint a Key Account Manager to join our highly successful Essex Depot specialist transport Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity in a Key Account Manager role that doesn?t come around very often. It is perfect for someone who is looking to really make a role their own.

You will be responsible for handling all customer requirements and to ensure great customer service. This will include providing quotes and building strong relationships. You will be responsible for actively seeking new business with new and established customers.

Key Account Manager main duties will include:

· Identifying opportunities to ensure the best rate is provided and most efficient use of resources

· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the client, ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained. Resolving customer issues efficiently

· Be proactive in developing business activity with both new and existing clients

· To ensure all costings are complete and correct on a daily basis

· To make sure that all relevant documentation is accurately generated and distributed

· Updating the Transport Management System with all relevant data

Person Specification:

· Experience of working in a transport industry preferred

· Self-motivated, professional and proactive individual who is able to generate new business

· Independent decision maker with the ability to interact within a busy team environment

· Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

· Good organisational skills

· Good analytical and planning skills

· A flexible approach to work

· High level of IT & PC literacy and ability to adapt to new technology

· High levels of numeracy and literacy

In return we are offering a basic salary between £27,000pa - £30,000pa plus commission package after a 3 month probation period.
