Quality Engineer Full Time

If you are into all things aerospace, aeroplanes, engineering and parts and love the idea of getting into supplies and purchasing, we have a lovely opportunity for you as a Quality Engineer - and the hours can be flexible to suit you, as long as they are spread over Mon-Friday.

Our client. based just outside of Luton, Beds, is looking for a Quality Engineer t to join their team asap for a 12 month maternity contract cover. Due to location, you do need to have access to transport to get there.

Salary: £26,000 pro rata dependant on hours worked

Hours: Mon - Fri 37.5hrs per week (early finish Friday) but these can be flexible. The present individual does 25 hours per week

Our client, an American owned technology company, operates as a value-added distributor of electronic, electro-mechanical components and assemblies for the aerospace industry and they hold both AS9100 and 9120 accreditations.

They stock tens of million components and work with and support a network of global suppliers and companies. They are looking for ideally someone with aerospace or parts engineering sector experience, to join them eg motor-trade experience would be potentially suitable where you have QI experience and knowledge to manage the UK?s QMS, reporting to Director of Manufacturing and Quality (US based) and local management.

Duties will Include:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management Systems
  • Conducting Internal / External / Product and Process audits.
  • Liaising with Customers and Suppliers in terms of performance and issues raised resolving and enhancing performance for all stakeholders
  • Looking at ways of Quality Improvement projects.
  • Compiling First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR?s).
  • Raising and Processing CAR?s through to completion.
  • Problem Solving

Key Requirements:

  • 3 or more years? experience within a Quality Department preferred.
  • Problem Solving Skills.
  • Mechanical drawing knowledge
  • Understanding and Auditing Skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • AS9100 / AS9120 (aerospace related accreditation) understanding preferable although not essential.
  • problem solving, NPI skills preferable although not essential.
  • a great team player
  • diligent and organised
