Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our vaccination teams as unregistered vaccinators working either at the large vaccination site in St Helens or out across Cheshire & Merseyside at the various clinic locations delivering vaccinations to our citizens.

The locations and opportunities range from sites on the Wirral, within Liverpool/Merseyside, St Helens, Warrington, Runcorn, Knutsford and many more - please indicate your preference on location within your application.

The post holders will be expected to deliver care of the highest standard. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.

Working for our organisation

As Lead Employer, St Helen's & Knowsley NHS Foundation Trust is providing bank workers to support the various Cheshire & Merseyside vaccination programmes. Our large vaccination site is currently operating from the St Helen's Rugby ground 'Totally Wicked' stadium but we are also working with our Primary Care Network, Community Pharmacies and School Age Immunisation Service colleagues via our collaborative bank which covers the Cheshire & Merseyside region - with bank shifts available across Liverpool, Wirral, St Helens, Warrington, South Cheshire and East Cheshire - please indicate on your application any preference on location.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Communicates complex condition related information to clients, requiring empathy and reassurance

  • Ability to work as part of a team and actively participate in team meetings.

  • Able to maintain and record accurate documentation of interactions between clients, colleagues and other agencies in the appropriate legal records.

  • Able to demonstrate professional conduct, preserve client?s rights including confidentiality and promote mutual respect amongst colleagues.

  • Able to make decisions appropriate to role, level of knowledge and competence, using professional judgement; some of which will require analysis.

  • Work according to protocols under clinical supervision.

  • Able to work flexibly and respond to changing demands in workload.

  • Able to prioritise own work and support the team daily.

  • Delivers vaccination sessions and health promotion as needed.

  • Standard keyboard skills and IT literacy.


Essential criteria

  • 1 Educated to NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification and short courses or significant clinical equivalent previous proven experience.

  • Commitment to undertake specific COVID -19 vaccination training and competency assessment and in Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Commitment and willingness to undertake learning and development courses as required including NHS statutory and mandatory training and understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act.

  • The post holder would ideally have experience of administering vaccines and providing immunisation advice within a primary care team.
