Role: SolicitorCounsel/Senior Legal Counsel, Permanent.

Direct Report: Evotec, SVP Head of Legal Commercial.

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week.

Location: Alderley Park, Macclesfield, SK10 4TG.

This role has flexibility for some home office working and office based. Some annual travel to global meetings required, and UK team meetings held in Abingdon.

Role and Responsibilities

As our Legal Counsel, you will work as an integrated part of the global legal team commercial to provide legal services on all matters related to contracts, and commercial laws: this includes creating, reviewing and approving all kinds of commercial agreements (in particular services and license agreements but also collaborations, confidentiality, material transfer, supply and consultancy agreements) as well as representing the company in the corresponding negotiations. Support Evotec?s and affiliates? administration functions in the UK on all day-to-day legal, contractual and regulatory matters, support Evotec?s entities in the UK on corporate and company secretarial duties

· Review and negotiate agreements related to the research and development efforts of the Evotec group as assigned

· Prepare and review contract specimen, standard templates and approval processes

· Support all Evotec?s entities in the UK on corporate, compliance and regulatory matters

· Provide legal advice and support for interdisciplinary projects

· Monitor the legal environment and trends concerning the areas involving contracts to ensure compliance and perform other duties as needed

· Collaborate with Legal team at Headquarters in Hamburg, Germany and at other global Evotec sites, on legal and compliance-related matters

Education, Qualifications and Experience

· A qualified solicitor in England and Wales (in-house legal experience desirable), Law degree drafting, negotiating and executing contracts, preferably in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry

· Strong understanding of contracts law and standard terms as well as solid drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels

· Ability to draft and negotiate contracts independently with a focus on accuracy of details in all contracts

· Solid negotiation with the ability to think creatively to find common ground in contract negotiations

· Experience with negotiating & drafting agreements in a commercial context

· Good understanding and interest in scientific and commercial processes

· Ability to meet deadlines, use time effectively and handle multiple

· Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and priorities simultaneously to achieve tight deadlines.

· Possess excellent attention to detail, producing exceptionally high standard of project work, with good verbal and written communication skills and computer literate with Microsoft Packages i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

· Self-motivated, independent with an enthusiastic approach, cooperative working, reliable with a strong work ethic.

· Experience liaising with regulators and statutory/law enforcement bodies
