Our client is a patient-led organisation who works around the world to provide advanced diagnosis, treatment and care for patients and the wider public. They run global awareness campaigns that run alongside clinical research collaboration with healthcare professionals!

Job Description

The key responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Act as a contact for communications requests

  • Assess communications needs

  • Develop and implement communications plans that support strategic initiatives

  • Ensure clear and on-brand messaging across all communications channels

  • Create engaging content, which is both platform and audience appropriate

  • Create/adapt images suitable for social media and web

  • Use content management systems (CMS), mailing systems and social media channels to disseminate information

  • Coordinate a bi-weekly newsletter

  • Maintain the website and approve content for publishing

  • General copywriting and editing

  • Support the web redesign project as required

  • Updating digital media accounts such as YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud

  • Write (ad hoc) press releases

  • Manage press queries and link representatives with the press

  • Liaise with external press consultants to facilitate press releases

  • Use media distribution systems for press release dissemination and press reporting

  • Facilitate the press centre during the International Congress

  • Mentor the communications assistant and assign tasks to them

  • Some (limited) European travel may be required when appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate must possess the following to be considered for the role;

  • Undergraduate degree in English, Communications, Journalism, PR, or related (essential)

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role (essential)

  • Ability to create communications plans in full (essential)

  • Excellent writing skills - press releases, statements, news, social media content etc. (essential)

  • Proficient with digital/social media channels (essential)

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail (essential)

  • Ability to prioritise - handle multiple assignments, manage/meet tight deadlines, and quickly adapt to meet unexpected and urgent requests (essential)
