Ambrose Avenue Group Practice are a forward thinking, well established friendly practice looking for a Medical Secretary/Summariser to join our team.

The role of a Medical Secretary/Summariser is to be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the clinical and administration team.

Duties can include but are not limited to:
the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner,

liaising with all departments and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral system.

Dealing with all incoming medical records/GP2GP Tasks and processing the incoming post, which will include summarising of medical records and scanning on all incoming post ready for scanning on a daily basis.

The working hours for this post are 34 hours.

The Medical Secretary/Summariser is expected to be team player, act with integrity at all times and lead by example with particular reference to promoting excellence in customer service, communication with patients, equality and diversity and patient confidentiality.

You will have the following skills and experience:
Strong audio and touch typing skills;

Administrative experience and good organisation skills;

Sound knowledge of medical terminology;

Proficiency in the MS Office package as well as excellent IT skills and experience of working with a clinical system;

Experience in read-coding and work-flowing clinical documentation;

Ability to ' think on your feet' ;

Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach;

Ability to understand the need to maintain confidentiality and data security at all times;

Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure;

Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently.
