Plant and Transport Administrator Full Time

Reporting to the Transport Manager, our client is looking for a Plant & Transport Administrator to join their team on a full time basis in Longstanton.

Overview of Role

Provide Plant & Fleet items on demand, providing best quality/value for money. Ensure a smooth, speedy ?after-sales? service for breakdowns and off-hires. Maintain the database to enable accurate and useful data to be used for reports. Ensure owned plant and detection equipment is calibrated, maintained and inspected as per manufacturers specification.

Key Accountabilities

  • Place Plant/Fleet orders accurately, on a timely basis, and in accordance with company policy
  • Check that correct rental costs are being charged on the invoices
  • Ensure order specification is correctly understood before raising orders
  • Review Plant order requests to ensure consistency with previous similar orders, and in accordance with company policy
  • Liaise with yard staff to ensure a free flow of information about expected on & off-hires of Plant/Fleet items and status of owned equipment in the yard.
  • Assist Transport Manager in the production of relevant statistics
  • Work with other Team members to cover the BAU aspects of the Transport department.
  • Maintain records for Operator Licence compliance
  • Issue insurance claim forms. Liaise with the Insurers with regard to claims
  • Administer/investigate damages to vehicles. Arrange back-charges where necessary.

Key Skills

The below are desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of plant/Fleet items supplied by major providers ? e.g., GAP, Sunbelt Rentals, Speedy Hire & Enterprise
  • Knowledge of civils Plant & Fleet items commonly used in the installation of fibre optic networks
  • Experience of using Purchase Order and equipment databases

Professional Qualifications/Training

  • GCSE passes in Maths and English

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
