Communications and Media Officer Negotiable Location, 17.5 hours, Fixed Term Contract or Secondment until August 2022 As our Communications and Media Officer, you will help ensure our members and other important audiences across the whole of Wales are informed about and engaged with the RCN's work. Our audiences include RCN activists and members, the media, politicians, health organisations and stakeholders and the wider public. Supporting the Communications and Media Manager for the RCN in Wales, you will focus on the delivery and development of member, media and stakeholder communications, services and products. Our aim is to position the RCN as the authoritative voice of nursing in Wales through promoting our activities, campaigns and achievements. There is excellent potential to develop your skills as the duties range from sourcing, writing and editing content for member communications through to assisting in the research, writing and distribution of news releases and internal and external briefings and articles. A key part of what you do will be to suggest innovative approaches to building up our social media profile As a Communications and Media Officer you?ll influence critical decisions about key messages we put out to the media and politicians. You will be responsible for engaging with our members and showcasing their innovative work to a wide range of audiences.

You will have excellent research and writing skills and be able to present often complex information in way that meets the needs of the audience. The ability to foster strong professional relationships and encourage close collaboration between departments is at the heart of this role.
