Anthony, owner and Head Chef is very passionate about his kitchen, and we are a leading restaurant in the field winning best family restaurant UK in 2019. We are presently looking at building up our team in the kitchen and there is a position available for the right person who has good knowledge of food.

Our restaurant has obtained an impressive reputation for providing seasonal, fresh and locally sourced food in a surrounding that is bursting with character. We boast an elegant ambience front-of-house full of character, which is making our family owned and family run restaurant a very busy place!

As a dedicated Chef you will have experience of working in a fast paced environment and be able to produce a wide variety of high calibre food. The ideal Chef will be eager to inspire and motivate staff, as well as possessing the ability to work within a team. The fitting Chef will work alongside our highly regarded Head Chef to create and deliver an exciting, local produce menu.The Penycae Inn's menu is not over complicated, we use all local produce, fresh fish, local lamb etc.

Our restaurant is positioned within the Brecon Beacons National Park near the Dan Y Ogof Show Caves (a 25 minute drive from 'Swansea centre). At the restaurant we have 90 covers and within the grounds we have an official zoo and accommodation.

The successful applicant will be expected to work weekends and will have approximately 40 hours per week, with every Sunday evening and all day Monday off as we are closed (except Bank Holidays) and a flexible additional day off. Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.

To summaries, experience is essential and development will be given in working with fresh, local produce. All necessary food hygiene and safety qualifications are required. The ideal candidate would:

-Have ample knowledge of working with fresh produce

-Have solid skills in preparing and serving food at a high standard

-Have understanding and experience of Health and Safety as well as Food Hygiene

-Have a passion a flair for cooking!

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £30,000.00 per year
