The Role

We currently have a vacancy for an Apprentice Network Cable Installer to join our team of Field Engineers. This is an ideal opportunity for someone to start a promising career that will see you delivering advanced and leading-edge cabling and technology solutions to some of the biggest and most well-known organisations in the world.

If you have the desire to learn, enjoy challenging solutions, have an eye for detail and dexterous ability, you will hit the ground running to become an IT professional that will always be in demand.

In the first 18 months, you will complete the industry recognised Level 3 Network Cable Installer course out at our offices and client sites.

Role Responsibilities

Within this role you will learn to carry out all aspects of data cabling including:

  • Infrastructure cabling – learn how to correctly install cabling and understanding current standards industry regulations
  • Construct and fix network equipment cabinets, prepare cable pathways, and install cable support and containment systems
  • Learn to understand blueprints and project drawings
  • Undertake site surveys to understand works required
  • Install of network devices
  • Understanding your relevant responsibilities with regard to the Health and Safety at work act 1974

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • GCSE or equivalent in maths and English grade: A*-C (9-4)
  • A basic level of understanding of MS Word and Excel
  • A team player mentality
  • Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a logical organised approach
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate in client facing environments
  • Able to travel abroad
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving Licence, or actively taking lessons

  • Highly motivated with plenty of initiative
  • Hard-working, with a ?can do? attitude towards work
  • The willingness to travel, work away from home and work unsociable hours (i.e. occasional weekends and overnights)

Things To Consider

  • As this role involves the completion of a formal apprenticeship, you need the commitment to complete the necessary training and study required to achieve the qualification, in return, you will receive continuous support from Connect-IP and its apprenticeship partners
  • Connect-IP?s clients are based throughout the UK and EU, you must be willing and able to work away from home during the week
  • Some weekend and night working will be required
