Helpline/Business Line Adviser

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our accredited Helpline team providing support and advice to anyone affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence alongside support and guidance for professionals

This is a part-time post working 30 hours per week 12noon-6pm primarily; fixed term contract until March 2022 with the possibility of extension subject to available funding. Immediate start preferred

In return we offer a competitive salary of £19,700 (pro rata) and 3% pension following a successful probationary period. The Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1) applies to this post. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS Check

? The post holder will communicate internally with all members of FreeVA, UAVA and external agencies.

? The post holder will represent the FreeVA at various meetings or committees as deemed appropriate by the Management and/or the Board of Trustees Main purposes of the post

1. Provide a simplified central referral point for professionals who want to make a referral to one of UAVA services.

2. Support professionals to navigate options and support available throughout LLR and provide updates on referrals made to one of UAVA services

3. Process agency referrals; including online referrals and referrals received via secure and non-secure email.

4. Liaise with professionals in relation to referrals they have submitted; provide updates and progress of case/client engagement.

5. To participate in answering helpline calls on a rota system, responding to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence through carrying out options appraisal, assessing needs and vulnerabilities and safety planning, including screening and signposting perpetrator calls

6. To listen and assess each caller, ensuring that an appropriate and effective support and assistance is provided and is of highest standard

7. To ensure information provided on the helpline and business line is constantly updated and meets current legislations and best practice.

8. To ensure that all contacts, case notes, records and forms are completed accurately and inputted on the database during each shift

9. To ensure that the out-of-hours answer-phone service is always working and checked on a regular basis.

10. To ensure accurate record-keeping and collection of data for monitoring purposes, completion of helpline monitoring reports and to provide statistical information for evaluation purposes as required

11. To ensure helpline evaluations are carried out regularly and to contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the helpline services
