IT Audit Manager Full Time

About the team:


The IT Audit Manager will be responsible for delivering independent, objective assurance and consulting activity to the Audit Committee, Board and management on the quality and effectiveness of the Group?s internal control, risk management and governance systems and processes. As part of an expanding and high performing Group Internal Audit (GIA) team they will support the delivery of the audit plan and related activities in a timely manner to best practice standards, producing value-adding and high-quality internal audit services to help the organisation achieve its objectives.


The role will be based in Wolverhampton with approximately a 30% requirement for travel to the subsidiaries (London, South East England and occasionally India).

What you will be doing:

  • Apply specialist and detailed technical IT expertise to produce high quality analysis and input into the technology risk assessment process and related audit plan.

  • Deliver end of end audit activities within GIA.

  • Deliver quality risk-based, value adding audits and reviews on a timely basis in line with methodology:

    • Independently conduct audits, including planning, execution and reporting.

    • Discuss the findings of audit reviews with management on a constructive basis in order to develop practical, innovative and value-adding solutions to audit issues identified.
    • Writing clearly, succinctly and correctly in a well-structured and logical way - drafting high quality audit reports that are impactful, balanced and proportionate and address the root cause of issues.

  • Perform follow-up work ensuring management progress actions through to closure, validate they are appropriately resolved with supporting evidence or escalated in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with IT management and other control groups such as IT Risk, Operational Risk and Legal.

  • Perform business monitoring to ensure that GIA is aware of changes in IT and change activities and objectives, and a necessary audit response is developed.
  • Proactive interaction across the GIA function to support delivery of departmental goals and to maintain high quality outputs including:

  • Deputise for the Head of IT Audit, where applicable.

Could you be the one?:


We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and qualifications set out below:

  • A broad range of IT knowledge and experience (gained either from previous operational or assurance / risk management roles).

  • Extensive experience of auditing technology functions and delivering and managing IT audits and/or experience within another IT assurance / risk management role where required to identify and complete testing for complex IT risks and controls.

  • Expertise in two or more of the following areas: Cyber Security, Information Security, IT Governance and Frameworks, System Development and Implementation, Change Management practices and Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery concepts, IT General Controls and application reviews.
  • Robust experience of managing multiple projects.

  • Strong experience of using data analytics to support audit delivery.

  • Retail banking financial services experience.
