Summary of the role:

The Resourcing Team are responsible for ensuring that the correct level of vehicle resources and drivers are in place at the terminals.

Reporting to the Lead Resource Manager, the Capability and Training Co-ordinator will be responsible for planning all periodic training and testing, as well as capability based training of drivers for all locations. The job holder will also be responsible for identifying long-term resource requirements in advance in order to initiate recruitment/advance capability training where necessary.

Hours of work: 09:00 ? 17:30, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) with one hour?s unpaid lunch break per day.

Customer Service

  • Maintain medium and long term awareness of the resource requirements across all fuels contracts, including the capabilities of drivers, vehicles and trailers.
  • Where there is a recruitment need, coordinate with Location Transport Managers (LTMs) to advise them of the dates for which new starters are required in order to commence training
  • Coordinate all periodic driver training, including annual refreshers and defensive driving training, and in conjunction with the Operations Training Manager, plan and arrange all driver ADR renewals
  • Coordinate all routine driver medicals and random Drug & Alcohol tests, booking these annually for the calendar year ahead
  • Liaise with the planning team to coordinate Driver Training Instructor (DTI) resource for the purpose of SRRA reviews.
  • On a weekly basis provide the SHEQ administrators with a single national training plan
  • Maintain a driver capability matrix and plan training accordingly so that driver capability is in line with requirements.

  • Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, leadership and fairness at all times whilst always ensuring the Company Values are upheld.

  • Develop strong working relationships with HCC colleagues, the OTM, the SHEQ Administrator and LTMs.
  • Proactively maintain positive, honest and open working relationships with the customer, protecting and enhancing the Hoyer Petrolog UK brand.


  • Carry their duties in an efficient and conscientious manner
  • Motivate staff with regard to the implementation and improvement of the TQM system.
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are met with regards to driver licenses and qualifications so as not to jeopardise Hoyer?s Operator Licence.
