About us:

Nelson's Distillery & School ltd was formed in 2019 by former chef Neil Harrison. Even in difficult circumstances for the hospitality and travel industry, Nelson's continues to innovate, develop, and grow new revenue streams.

Nelson's has recently closed a substantial investment round to support its ambitious growth plans both in the UK and internationally. A lot of the growth will be through the roll out of mobile Gin & Vodka Schools and franchises, building a growing Nelsons marketplace of loyal brand ambassadors delivering repeatable direct to consumer business through our e-commerce platform.

The role:

We are looking for a Business Development Director to join the growing team at Nelson?s. This is a high profile position where the successful candidate will form part of the senior executive team with the opportunity to move onto the CEO role within 12 months.

Reporting directly to the executive chairman you will be responsible for maximising growth and profitability of the UK business by creating, owning and delivering the sales strategy for all channels. You will have complete responsibility over the delivery of the UK sales strategy.

Key responsibilities:

You will recruit and manage a team of like-minded professionals, to help with achieving the ambitious growth targets set. Focusing on strengthen the relationship with existing customers, growing existing avenues and researching new.

  • Recruiting commercial partners for a premium Gin & Vodka School experience in all the major cities and tourist areas across the UK. Target of 30 (currently 4) within 3 years.
  • Promoting and recruiting franchise partners for the unique Gin & Vodka School franchise business model.
  • Develop new trade, retail and wholesale channels .

As Business Development Director you will have influence and input into the marketing, social and creative strategy of Nelson?s with significant emphasis on new product development. Ensuring Nelsons is ahead of the market trends and can capitalise growths areas with first mover advantage .

About you:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years? experience in the craft spirits industry or similar, with a track record of implementing an affective sales strategy demonstrated by consistent growth in sales.

We are looking for:

  • Experience of managing a growing team
  • B2C & B2B experience
  • Creative flair for marketing and brand development.
  • Experience within the premium hospitality market
  • Export knowledge advantageous

It is important you can demonstrate you will hit the ground running and make a real impact from day one.

Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
