Workshop Controller (nights)

Our client a UK leading vehicle specialist with Technical Centres located throughout the UK

The role will cover Monday to Thursday - 18:00 - 0630 48 hours per week

Here?s the role:

Running a team within our refurb department, the role will oversee the team ensuring that the team is running to maximum efficiency. Your duties will include:

  • Supervise a team of Team Leaders and Technicians
  • Motivate and focus a team to achieve objectives whilst maintaining quality
  • Maintain a tidy and professional working environment with an emphasis on health and safety.
  • Establish staff training needs; communicate training requests.
  • Preparing reports for supervisors and management.
  • Conducting staff reviews and appraisals
  • Ensure that all parts functions are actioned correctly and efficiently
  • load the refurbishment workshop with vehicles in priority order and Coordinate the Vehicles in Hangar Area.
  • Evaluate the necessary route for vehicles into refurbishment and distribute work to the correct skill set.
  • Liaise with the logistics department to control vehicle movements into refurbishment areas.
  • Ensure all Workshop Feeder areas are kept well stocked at all times.
  • Monitoring health checks on a daily basis striving to keep numbers low.
  • Ensure cars are tabbed/located in correct areas.
  • Ensure holding areas are up to date and upgrades are followed up.
  • Maintaining a tidy and professional working environment, with a special emphasis on health and safety and ISO

About you:

  • With a minimum of 2 years leader or management experience
  • A good and thorough understanding of vehicle refurbishment repair process (Advantageous)
  • Who can work well within a team and on their own initiative
  • With a keen eye for detail, quality and who takes pride in their work
  • With a flexible attitude to working hours and overtime

Here?s what we require:

A solid understanding and experience of the motor industry at a good level.

Some knowledge of the latest vehicle inspection and refurbishment best practices.

A methodical, process driven individual.

Ability to both supervise and motivate a team.

Ability to work on your own initiative.

A flexible attitude to working hours.

Strong communication skills with a mature and professional approach.

Good computer skills with attention to detail when entering data.
