This role is key in supporting the sales team and responsible for providing proactive, responsive purchasing support within the business. The role demands an individual who will continually look for improvement, whilst ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and service levels.

You will be working for our sister company Holiday Home Supplies.

It is expected that the purchasing assistant will work flexibly and independently, covering other areas of the department and business as required.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Support counter staff with sales across both businesses
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Research new potential suppliers / arranging meetings
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers and agreeing prices
  • Agreeing contract terms of agreement such as payment terms with new suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills both in person and on the phone

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in a purchasing role with practical knowledge and experience of the caravan industry.

DETAILS

Job type - Full time permanent

Salary - Discussed at interview

Hours - Monday to Friday 730-5 with alternate Saturdays 730/12

Holidays - 28 days including bank holidays

Full clean driving licence
