An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Development Division in this fast-paced environment. This key role is needed to increase and maintain a pipeline of desirable work to achieve agreed turnover and profit targets, through direct contact with customers. The BDM will acquire and retain customers in order to create a continuous pipeline of work to deliver business targets. Focus is on supporting customer relationship management, winning new and continued business and building profitable, long-term customer relationships. The BDM is a customer ?champion? who delivers the Mobius brand promise and the service standards from first impressions to after-care.

Key Objectives/ Accountabilities:

  • Pipeline - Increase our pipeline potential and secured workload in Mobius Works, Home and Construct through direct sales calls to customers and consultants
  • Market Research - with the divisional teams, develop an intrinsic understanding of the local market ? including size, value, sectors, growth areas, competitors etc and identify the target customers aligned to the agreed criteria/capability
  • Lead validation & tracking - co-ordination of leads and opportunities through new pipeline sources (i.e. ABI, B2B and various portal websites), and existing customers. Manage & track through the CRM database
  • Sector Campaigns ? Assisted with the Team?s targeted direct sales campaigns to raise awareness of the Brand and our integrated offer (i.e. MEP, Works, Construct etc). Manage, monitor and report through the CRM database
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new/emerging markets, growth areas, trends and clients
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation ? find the decision maker
  • Generate leads and seek out prospective customers
  • Meet with customers/clients face-to-face or over the phone
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
  • Understand the needs of our customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Set aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Work strategically - carry out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
  • Complete client account set up documentation
  • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them
  • Participate in the promotional strategy and activities with the marketing activities
  • Attend seminars, conferences and networking events where appropriate


You'll need to be:

  • Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on secured sales and profit
  • Articulate and well presented (with good presentation skills)
  • Ability to negotiate, build and manage customer relationships
  • Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills

  • Communicative with an excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with customers and business associates
  • Being able to work to deadlines
  • Highly organised and possess the ability to prioritise

  • Great interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients
  • Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills
  • Team-working skills and a collaborative approach to work
  • The ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals
  • Negotiating skills
  • The ability to think strategically and analyse sales figures and write report
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Initiative and the confidence to start things from scratch
  • IT literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe
