Are you looking for a musculoskeletal career in the South West?

Are you looking to work in a musculoskeletal team covering both community and primary care, with shared goals, driven by evidence based practice and integrated with the wider musculoskeletal pathway?

Sirona Care and Health are looking to recruit First Contact Musculoskeletal physiotherapists to deliver a new contract with the primary care networks within South Gloucestershire. Located on the doorstep of vibrant Bristol, South Gloucestershire has five primary care networks with a total population of just under 250,000. Our model has been designed to support musculoskeletal clinicians in primary care as well as provide a resilient framework for the future of FCP delivery. Integral to this is our plan to recruit a mix of Band 7 and Band 8a physiotherapists with a robust training, supervision and competency framework designed to develop progressive advance practice skills. From April 2020 Sirona engaged in delivering a new 10 year NHS adult community contract, including the community musculoskeletal services for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. These new FCP posts will therefore benefit from being fully integrated with the wider MSK pathway including access to musculoskeletal physiotherapy and interface services, peer support and expert advice from interface and secondary care colleagues, a governance framework including audit and research, and direct referral links with acute providers across the area including radiology, pain services and orthopaedics.

As an autonomous practitioner you will provide high level clinical assessment and management plans for self-referred patients, often with challenging presentations and complex needs. Depending on your experience you will either receive training for or have access to the following to facilitate effective patient care:

  • Shared Decision Making

  • Evidence based patient information website

  • Signposting to local healthier lifestyle providers and recommended applications (apps)

  • Diagnostic investigation via local providers under a standardised protocol including X ray, Ultrasound, MRI and Bloods

  • Direct referral access to secondary care pathways inc Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pain service, Community services

  • Musculoskeletal Injection Therapy

  • Interventional Radiology via standardised protocol including US guided injections

  • Non-medical Prescribing

The role will also benefit from close working relationships with primary care colleagues through attending practice meetings, GP mentoring, delivering multi-disciplinary training, reporting on data regarding the FCP service and working with GPs, practice managers and FCP colleagues to recommend improvements in the FCP delivery model for the benefit of all Bristol patients.

If you are excited by this role and being a key figure in shaping the future of Sirona MSK FCP services across Bristol, please either get in touch using the detail below or follow the link below to complete an application form.
