Job overview



Would you like to join our friendly team at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as a pharmacy technician?



We are looking for a pharmacy technician to join the crisis and home treatment resolution home treatment team (CRHT ) .



If you are motivated, hard working and have good communication skills with good accuracy and attention to detail, then this may be a good opportunity for you. You will need a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and you will need to be registered with the GPhC.



Please note this is a full time position but we would consider part times hours.



Main duties of the job



The main duties of the job will be to;


  • Dispense out-patient prescriptions and support the CRHT with the management and stock of medication.

  • Carry out the distribution and stock control of medicines

  • liaise with medical and nursing staff in relation to the stock control and quality control of medicines

  • Liaise Pharmacists and the pharmacy team on behalf CRHT

The way that Crisis Support nationally is changing; at NSFT we have recently benefitted from investment in the CRHT team and the wider crisis pathway.



The service is not only being invested in financially, with a fresh approach to ideas and service delivery being supported by the Trust, we are confident that the new partnerships and initiatives that are being developed will enhance the crisis response received by our service users.



This role in particular is based predominantly at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich

The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.



This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.

  • You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

  • This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
