Children and Young Persons Support Worker Full Time

Are you a warm, reliable, and compassionate CYP Support Worker with experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and all other forms of violence?

The Children & Young Persons Support Worker will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, frontline and holistic support to children and young people who have been victims of domestic and sexual abuse/violence.


  • Support the empowerment of children and young people (0 - 18 years) and assist them in recognizing the features and dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse/violence present in their situations and help them regain control of their lives. You will play a crucial role in helping children and young people to live a life free of abuse/violence and fear.

Your contribution:

  • Identify and assess the risks and needs of children and young people (aged 0-18) experiencing or affected by domestic and sexual abuse/violence using specialist risk and needs identification tools.
  • Work with high-risk children and young people to help them access services to keep them safe.
  • Provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims from a holistic approach, including in relation to legal options, education, housing, health and finance.
  • Manage a caseload ensuring each client receives the appropriate service specific to their needs.
  • Advocate for high-risk/needs children and young people with agencies who can help to address domestic or sexual abuse.

To be considered for this Children & Young Persons Support Worker role, you must;

  • Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse/violence and the effects on children and young people.
  • Understand child protection issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
  • Have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people.
  • Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
  • Have a keen understanding of child development, children?s needs and children?s rights.
