Additional Learning Support Manager (Fixed Term Opportunity) Full Time

The Manchester College has many Campus locations across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cutting-edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.

We now have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Additional Learning Support Manager on a fixed term (Maternity Cover), full time (37 hours per week) basis.

As directed by the Director of SEND Learning and Support you will implement the College?s SEND strategy for the designated area of responsibility, ensuring that college learners requiring specialist and targeted support receive such as appropriate to meet their individual needs and promote independence, leading to agreed, aspirational outcomes. In doing so you will contribute to closing achievement gaps between SEND learners and their non-SEND peers.

You will provide curriculum staff advice on the support for learners requiring QFT and Targeted Support through the graduated approach to monitor and report on the implementation and progress of individual Personal Learning Plans and support the Director to develop seamless partnership between support and quality teaching and learning.

In order to do this, you will need:

Degree Level qualification

Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths

An understanding of JCQ guidance and Exam Access Arrangements

Substantial experience of working in an educational setting in teaching or providing academic support

for learners with SEND and SpLDs

Experience of working with learners with complex needs

A proven track record of effectively managing and developing staff

Experience of providing and coordinating support in an FE or Secondary SEND environment is essential
